One CalAggie Coming Up!

Well, it is about time for a new post, so here we go:

OK, this one is going to be a first for me. In the years past I've usually ushered the season in with the Cantua/Pine Flat/Dinuba trio or some combination thereof. Steven's Bicycles Racing Team should have a strong presence in CAT-3s, 4s and 5s. We've already seen a strong commitment guys new to RR working on their Cat-4 upgrades. We should see Patrick, Ed and hopefully Mr. Rooter. We are also hoping to strengthen our already strong 3s team, which already has a strong presence in Stone "Cold", Peter "Montana" and Ivo ("the Russian"?? :-). AC will be battling it out in the 2s, and should be receiving some reinforcements soon.

Any way you slice, I am looking forward to the new experience, sharing a great day with my new team mates and enjoying some fast racing!

Look out, here we COME!

SBR Unit

For being only a couple of months old, the ride today was very disciplined. It flowed like fluid in all the right spots, good workouts in the hills and smooth pulls to and from the hills. The five who were there got to see what years of riding together would usually get you was done today. Now lets hope our other half does well in Fremont keeping it rubber side down!

Critter Entry #2

Well, with the first crit looming just around the corner, it was time today to roll up the sleeves and start getting the ol' speci' ready for duty. On my last visit to the store the wunderful steven't crew fitted a leftover F1 Giant fork over the old (and need I mention?) - heavy fork. I have a limited *affinity* for tuning my derailleurs and breaks, so after I fitted on what I can (which isn't reallly that much), the boys went to work on the bike. I really have to give Ray props for coming through and dialing (and cleaning!) this bad boy in. He is one mechanic I couldn't do without!! Unfortunately, there were some bad news about my road frame which appears to have a crack on the seat stays in the BB. We'll get more info from the dealer next week as to what's going to happen with that frame, and most likely a replacement one will be issued.

Here is a sneak-peak preview; time for a road test! Looks sweeeet!!

A picture's worth a thousand words

So you wanna be like Lance

Well, you gotta train like Lance! In his pursuit of transparency, Lance is providing his training regiment and power output numbers. Here is a sample from his Hawaii training camp for your viewing pleasure.

Aaah, how nice would it be to ride all day long in a perfect 75 degree weather all year round.

Backside of Burrough Valley!

I love this ride cuz on one side of the hills it's foggy and drizzly and cold and wet, and then on the other..BAM!!SHAZAM!!...it's brilliant blue skies and if you're lucky, the sublime interface of the two weather realities...AWESOME!!

Aussie TT Nats

Check out these new Team Columbia kits spotted yesterday in the TT nationals. I was like wait is that Scotts Sounir Duval or Symmetrics? Then i saw Columbia printed on them and the picture of the podium and realized its actually a design of their abdomen muscles and pectorals! Reminds me of Cippos Muscle skin suit from years back, i like the kits better than their last one though.

Then we have this guy, well ill let you decide. I do have to admit i've never seen these colors in a kit but i like it cause its different. Kinda 1980'ish huh? But is'nt all that stuff coming back around in the fashion world? Alright thats it from my postings, I'm off on a ride!

CHOICES.....

Some of us have important choices that need to be made......
...hmmm, I wonder....
...one of these choices is not like the other...one of these choices just doesn't belong...

...boy, look at all that sexy Red and Black....and...oh my!....doesn't Steven's carry that badass brand?...

...Orbea...isn't that a type of whale?....oh wait, no, that's an "Orca".....hmmm...
...whatever shall be done, whatever shall I do?...

And to prove that I am using all that extra time well, I am scouring the interwebbies for the most interesting materials to keep ya'll occupied.

Rest Week

All you lucky dogs riding your pants off this week, this is what a rest week looks like. Another painful day spent in Club Hell.

WC

I'm beginning to think I'm the only loser posting on here. Big SHOUT to Stewart for the new S-Works helmet, that blows my Giro out of the water! And Mellor for recommending a winter glove that actually does it's job insulating and blocking wind and water. I flipping love to be outdoors! Here's a picture from on top Wild Cat today.
